Andi Burnham
Seattle, WA
Andi’s experience gives her a fascinating window into the (sometimes wide) gap between design modeling and actual building operation, which helps inform her practical approach to consulting.
Andi Burnham is passionate about buildings as a tool in the climate crisis, and finding ways to build, operate, and maintain them efficiently and strategically. She has expertise in energy related codes and policies for buildings, volunteering on the Washington State energy code technical advisory group (TAG), the LEED Energy and Atmosphere TAG, and is the Seattle Chapter lead for the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA). She is also a licensed mechanical engineer, a member of ASHRAE and has volunteered with the MEP 2040 to support issues around embodied carbon in MEP systems. She loves that her role as an energy analyst allows her to foster an integrative design process, working with owners, architects, contractors, MEP engineers, sustainability consultants, and commissioning agents to find pragmatic and optimized solutions to support each project’s unique goals and opportunities.
When she’s not thinking about ways building design and operation can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, she can usually be found cooking or spying on the birds in her yard with a pair of binoculars.
