Senior Lighting Designer

Nicholas Dewey

Seattle, WA

A good design starts with just an idea. This idea is pushed and pulled through feedback and iteration until it becomes a design so beautiful and uniquely suited for the project that any other solution feels inconceivable.

Trained in architecture and practicing lighting design since 2016, Nicholas prides himself on considering all aspects of the built environment. For him, design centers on three principles: responsibility, integration, and innovation. The built environment has a profound impact on how we live, and Nicholas believes a designer’s role goes beyond simply meeting functional needs. It’s about creating spaces that resonate with their surroundings and enhance the human experience. For him, true design success comes through collaboration—integrating lighting seamlessly with architecture and building systems to create environments that feel cohesive, intentional, and responsive. Nicholas brings extensive experience across multifamily residential mid-rise and high-rise developments, affordable housing, commercial office, hospitality, and tenant improvement projects. Known for his attentive listening and detail-oriented approach, he excels in collaboration and contributing thoughtful, well-executed designs that have earned industry recognition and awards.

Outside of the office, Nicholas enjoys time with his friends, often playing games, dancing, or, when the sun is out, kayaking Seattle’s waterways. On his own, you may catch him walking to his neighborhood coffee shop, sketching, or shopping for the next addition to his fossil collection.
