Carissa’s background in studio art and technical drafting bring a unique interdisciplinary lens to Sustainability—merging creativity, technical precision, and holistic problem solving.

With over a decade of experience advancing high-performance, community-centered design, Carissa has deep expertise in LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL, Fitwel, and ESDS certifications, as well as ESG strategy and risk management. Her portfolio spans affordable housing, commercial interiors, and community-driven developments, consistently centering health, equity, and environmental performance. In addition to her broad project experience, Carissa offers technical depth in biophilic design, interior plantscaping, green infrastructure, and sustainable landscapes. She specializes in creating plant-integrated environments that reconnect people with nature and enhance ecological well-being. Carissa has presented on inclusive design and biophilia and is an active member of the International Living Future Institute and several regional horticultural societies.

Outside of work, she is passionate about interior plantscaping, botanical art, and helping others reconnect with nature, one leaf at a time. Many of us at Delta E call her “Auntie-Planty.”
